You know you need to get people looking at your site before you can make sales, but your budget for advertising is pretty close to nothing.
The best sources of free traffic include traffic exchanges, safelists, article marketing (bum marketing), and forum marketing.
Traffic Exchanges are sites where the members view your sites in exchange for you looking at theirs. Scroll down for the big list.
The Traffic Exchanges in this list are all manual exchanges, not auto surfs. That means there’s a real human being with eyes on your site, not just some computer program automatically connecting to sites.
Top ratings don’t always mean that they would be the best for you. Different exchanges attract somewhat different personalities. For many of my sites, my best exchange is rarely in the top 10 and a couple of the top 5 exchanges don’t do much for me at all. Your mileage may vary
I will be going through and collecting much more detailed information on each exchange so the list will be much more useful in deciding which exchanges you want to work. Do not, and I mean DO NOT join every exchange out there. New users should try to hold it under 5 exchanges and even active surfers can’t do justice to more than a dozen or so. Information overload is almost unavoidable when it comes to anything on the internet and internet marketing even more than most topics.
Full Disclosure: If you join or buy anything through any of the links on the site, I might make some money. Seems obvious to me, but to do a CYA under the new Federal Trade Commission rules, I have to be explicit.
Program owners: To have your details added or corrected, drop me a line in the form on the bottom right column and I’ll send you the questionnaire.
So, without more ramblings and suggestions and comments and … there I go again ==> THE LIST
Traffic Exchanges in Alphabetical Order.
I know I don’t have all of the exchanges out there. In fact there are probably well over a thousand TEs with new ones starting up every day and not so new ones quitting. As a result, unless something really catches my eye, I’m arbitrarily setting a minimum of 500 members and 3 months up in order to be added to the list.
